Not a bad job by the reporter.  He might have given a bit more history on the Conservative Citizen’s Council, but given the short bit–a good local news story.

I can vouch for Momentum Analysis’ work–they did the polling for Jeff Smith in 2006.  While partisan polls for campaigns are always a bit suspect, Margie Omero runs a tight ship. The challenge this year is figuring out turnout, of course.
The polling memo:
To:      Baker for Congress

For oil
I always thought Hulsoff was sane. Apparently not.
Let’s look at the estimates:
Dunn-Norman said she thinks the state could produce at least 5,000 barrels a day, which would easily top the 1984 production record.
Jim Long is much more optimistic. Long, a mining engineer, has been drilling test wells for a landowner with 4,700 acres in [...]

One of the things I’ve always failed to understand is why politicians don’t take the time to understand campaign finance law. It’s a bit confusing, but not that hard once you get down the basics.  If you don’t understand it you have two problems.  The first is you are likely to make inadvertant mistakes.  The [...]

I want to congratulate Matt Blunt on finding one of the few people who had so much free time to head up the SAB, that he was able to meddle in the day-to-day workings of the District just as much as the goofs in the 1990s.
Matt Blunt is truly a savant–and idiot savant who can [...]

Just got some scuttlebutt, top Gephardt aide Joyce Aboussie has been sent a private plane to join Dick Gephardt for….one can only assume the announcement that Dick Gephardt will be the next Vice President Nominee for the Democratic Party.
UPDATE: If Aboussie is being flown out and ordering staff to be ready for a change, it’s [...]

P-D editorial uses some research from Will Winter to address the migration around the region by age

— The net loss of black residents in St. Louis and the net gain of blacks in St. Louis County are most pronounced among kids and teenagers and adults aged 20 to 54, admittedly a wide spread.
— The number [...]

Nixon and Hulsoff want to make it easier to build a nuclear plant. Before any babbles about more nuclear power plants they should have a storage location for the waste. The day Yucca Mountain opens, it’ll be full.  So what does one do with the waste?
Crickets…..?

A moral victory would have been for the Mayor to even pay attention to the recall “effort.”
Veteran activist Zaki Baruti says that the petition movement currently has about 14,000 signatures, well short of the roughly 43,000 needed to force a vote.
Rather, Baruti said the new goal is 19,500 names, a number equal to the amount [...]
