It is not necessarily "bad," but its not the role of a judge. A case is supposed to be decided on the facts and the law. Whether the party is a gigantic international corporation or a sympathetic single-mother should not matter. When you want a judge with "empathy" you want a judge to put their opinions over the law.

It's not a problem if it was realistic, but nearly every other poll is showing 95 - 98 percent African-American support for Obama and the typical Democratic share of the AA vote is around 90 %. So the first serious general election AA candidate in the party that has high AA support against a candidate who has no particular tie to the AA community (less than Bush by far) isn't going to get those numbers.

why is it a problem if 65% of blacks vote for obama and 35% vote for mccain? it's testament to the african americans who are making a decision about the election based on the issues and not on race. it's still a too disproportionate amount voting for obama.

i am AA and voting for mccain.

Comment on A State Rep at the CofCC Picnic by Howard

I have no evidence to support that State Rep. Brian Nieves was or was not at the picnic. Since his name has been brought up, however, I am now very concerned that Brian Nieves may have pro-CofCC views.

The news media should do a penetrating expose and take a look at the views of the Missouri Legislature and find out: Are they pro-CofCC or anti-CofCC? I think people would love to see an expose like that.

The news media should ask each of them if they were at that CofCC picnic and, when they say they weren't, they should be asked to provide witnesses to back up their stories and some time-date marked store or ATM like video supporting their whereabouts elsewhere at the time of the picnic.

I'm not saying that I think Brian Nieves is the name we're looking for, I'm just saying that until he proves he is not, well, we should be afraid, very afraid.

I hope the board does their homework as well as you obviously have done. Re: Evans et al.

To claim the "communications network implemented" NOW in his biography in hindsight of the snowstorm debacle seems almost an insult to the parents/ children stranded while Evans was inexplicably AWOL.

Hey, totally off topic, but it is being reported that Obama has picked his VP and will announce soon. The burning question:

Is Blog St. Louis now ready to scoop the mainstream media and call it for Gephardt?

But seriously, sometime you have to give the whole story about that...

Stelzer's website got a makeover shortly before election. The old About page has a hilarious resume and b/w photo with color tie. http://www.friendsofrobertstelzer.com/AboutRob.html

Stelzer's online resume with a former employer provides a better chronology of his globe trotting life.
http://www.mpil.de/ww/de/pub/organisation/wiss_bereich/rstelzer.cfm

As for Stelzer's local lawyering, case.net says late January 2008 is when his Missouri law license was reinstated and SOS says late January 2008 is when he filed papers for The Stelzer Law Firm, LLC.

May 2008 is when Stelzer incorporated The Steinclub FC Management Co for purposes of managing bars, restaurants and office space. Guess he didn't think he would get elected when he made the full time legislator promise. That or the Stelzer definition of full time is something more along the lines of part full time, which I believe is also one of the definitions of half-assed.

This sort of campaign is usually the stuff of Dustin Mitchell or Drew Pritt.

Franken Berry, absolutely. Separated at Birth- Grandpa Fred, Franken Berry, Mike Gibbons.

Franken Berry, however, was indeed scary during the pink pooh days. I have not read any reports of Grandpa or Gibbons causing pink pooh, though truth is I have not bothered to research the matter.

I hear what you are saying, (Byron does have his faults), but shopping for a district and not campaigning were not among them. He was asked by several active Democrats in the district if he would run for the seat when nobody else expressed much interest.

And he was pretty active all over the district from what I could tell - I saw him at every West County Dems meeting I went to, and I also saw him up in Lincoln County.

Good to see you're back. You really came out swinging. But taking on Bryon DeLear? Rob Stelzer? Not exactly heavy hitters. Speak truth to power! Go after somebody tough.
